Lead · Succeed · Inspire
Since 1947, Youth of the Year has been Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier recognition program, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club members. Each year, one exceptional young person from our Boys & Girls Clubs receives this award. We are proud to announce Mario Hoskins as our 2019 Youth of the Year.

For nearly 70 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Youth of the Year program has honored and celebrated the nation’s most inspiring teens and their incredible journeys. Stories of outstanding leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to living a healthy lifestyle have made the Youth of the Year America’s premier leadership and recognition program for teens. These amazing young people represent the voice and spirit of hope for America. Inspiring all kids to lead. To succeed. To inspire. This year’s organizational Youth of the Year will go on to compete against other Boys & Girls Club members for the North Carolina Youth of the Year title and a $5,000 college scholarship from Boys & Girls Clubs of America. To compete, each nominee was required to fill out Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Youth of the Year applications, write essays, provide report cards as well as teacher references, and sit before a panel of judges for an interview.
